California’s over-60 population is projected to diversify and grow faster than any other age group. By 2030, one out of four Californians will be an older adult. Recognizing this, Governor Gavin Newsom issued an executive order in June 2019 calling for the creation of a CA Master Plan for Aging (Master Plan), which would serve as a blueprint for state and local government, the private sector, and philanthropy to prepare for the state’s changing demographic.
Released in January 2021, the Master Plan sets five major goals. Click on a goal below to track related legislation from the 2021 session. Please note that inclusion of a bill does not indicate Collaborative endorsement.
